Who we are
Champions 4 Change Wellbeing CIC is a community interest company which helps young people and adults to improve their health and wellbeing through physical activity, mentoring and social intervention. In particular, we use boxing empowerment to distract young people living in disadvantaged communities from engaging in anti-social behaviour and gang related activities.
In addition, we deliver physical therapy using Boxercise to help adults diagnosed with diabetes to reduce their dependency on prescription medication and achieve sustained improvements in their health and wellbeing.

Our Programmes
Our after school boxing sessions provide a safe environment for children aged 8 to 16 to to develop healthy lifestyles, discipline, confidence, self-esteem and lasting relationships whilst learning the art of boxing. Read more…
We work with primary and secondary schools to integrate boxing empowerment as part of SEND intervention programmes.
Our boxing coaches support students to develop by getting them to define goals at the beginning of each term time boxing empowerment programme.
Our staff are trained and experienced in dealing with challenging young people and we actively work to provide pathways for employment and further training through collaboration with our partners in sports and technology.
Our aim is to motivate young people to develop strong relationship that provides a foundation from which they can rebuild their self-esteem and start a positive cycle of achievement.
Our community boxing empowerment programmes are usually run in 12-weekly cycles to ensure that attendees can set achievable goals at the start of the programme which are then self-assessed at the end of the programme.

The aim of the summer boxing academy is to encourage young people to be happy, healthy and safe and to help them achieve their full potential, by providing effective support to all during the summer months.
Our summer academy are open to 8 to 16 year old young people who live or go to school in the local community.
The format of the academy will be a lite version of our 12-week boxing empowerment programme and run on Wednesday and Saturday during the summer holidays. Read more…
Our Boxing Fitness for Type 2 Diabetes Programme helps adults diagnosed with diabetes to reduce their dependency on prescription medication and achieve sustained improvement in their health and wellbeing.
At the start of the programme, participants will complete a Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q) which will identify any health issues, and allow the coaches to assess individual goals for the programme.
During Phase 1 of the programme, participants will gain boxing skills in combination with fitness, endurance, and core strength.
In Phase 2, participants will reassess their initial goals and set new targets which will be monitored at self-assessment and peer reviews during the latter weeks of the programme.
Sustaining Active Lifestyle
At the end of the programme, participants will be sign-posted to further opportunities to sustain active lifestyles, such as local gyms and boxing clubs.
Anticipated outcomes include improvements in:
1. Reduced dependency on diabetes prescription medication
2. Improved fitness, health and wellbeing
3. Improved community cohesion through mutual support of participants with shared experiences
